Yoga Positions
Adho Mukha Dandasana
Translation: Downward Facing Staff Pose - Also Often
Called Plank Pose
A straight line from the heels to the top of the head is made in this pose.
Weight is on the ball points of the toes and the palms.
The palms are placed directly under the shoulders.
The gaze can be forward or down.
Tuck the navel in slightly so the lower back does not curve.
Try pushing down on the finger tips to reduce the strain on the hands.
Raise up a little worth the hips if your wrists still strain. The shoulders will then be behind the palms. It does not look so straight but still has many of the benefits.
