Yoga fitness can be assigned to many different aspects of yoga. There are 3 main aspects where yoga fitness could be measured and should be increased. These are mental, physiological and physical or Mind, body and breath.
The body can be strengthened and made to be more flexible in almost every area. The printable yoga sequences address many of these areas increasing the bodies ability for physical yoga fitness.
The yoga fitness of your breathing could be increased by practicing breathing techniques regularly to lengthen the breath and increase oxygen exchange.
The mind can be exercised through meditation so that less and less thoughts flicker through it over a period of time. See yoga meditation.
These flows (although not all) have more of a cardiovascular flow so they are better for your overall yoga fitness. Many times we look for yoga for weight loss but the truth is yoga is designed more for strength and flexibility rather than weight loss. The weight loss for yoga is minimal compared with long duration low intensity cycling, swimming or running. Many times people claim that their yoga is yoga for weight loss but it is just a scam to attract you to spend your money. I am not saying that there is no weight loss from a vigorous yoga practice but is in not as good as many other forms of exercise for weight loss.
