Use yoga equipment for abetter practice
Some yoga equipment will help your practice. SOme yoga mats have hurt my knees when practicing while others that are bio-degradable have bio-degraded on me in the first few weeks of practice. The Manduka mat is very expensive but is worth it.
1. Find a good yoga mat
Some mats will not provide good cushioning for your joints especially the knees. The best yoga mats are by far Manduka mats. They are still crafted using simple, enduring, natural, and whenever possible, renewable materials and a fine attention to detail. They cost a lot but they are worth it.
2. Yoga Blocks
Many yoga positions are hard to enter. Yoga blocks can help you relax in a pose but often times the yoga pose can be modified with the hand on the leg so that you do not need to use a block. These are not essential but can be helpful.
3. Yoga Straps
Yoga straps can help when you can't reach the legs such as in a forward bend. These can also be helpful but are not an essential piece of yoga equipment. The elastic versions can be nicer to use as the ex courage a mild stretch while you hold due to their elasticity.
My tips to you are to save the money you would spend on all the rest of the yoga equipment and spend it on a Manduka mat.
