B.K.S. Iyengar

B.K.S. Iyengar was born on December 14, 1918 in Bellur, Karnataka India. He is a legend in yoga Iyengarand dedicated his life to teaching yoga and writing about the sacred art making the refinements of many of the 8 limbs of Hatha Yoga available for all to learn. He indeed almost influenced all styles of yoga practiced in the western world today.

He struggled for survival through early life suffering a variety of serious illnesses including tuberculosis, malaria, typhoid and even malnutrition. He credits his survival on his practice of yoga.

B.K.S Iyengar was taught yoga by the famous Sri T. Krishnamacharya.

In 1937 Mr Iyengar was asked by his Guru to go to Pune, India to teach yoga where he continued to teach for most of his life.

B.K.S Iyengar really is one of the greatest yoga teacher to ever live as
was his Guru Sri T. Krishnamacharya.
